This photo illustration was made to show the hidden beauty that can often reside beneath the chaos and that making peace can, very realistically, be harder than continuing on with the status quo.
To get the composition right, photo started as a stick-man drawing on a sticky note before it was shot. The remainder of the image was made from two other photos and three separate 3D models. The text was designed to be rough and chaotic with accenting colours to compliment the yellow found in the flowers and the blue from the thrusters of the spaceships.

The Process
Before the shot, I had an idea: a girl crouching in a bed of flowers as a battle rages in the background. The problem? I don't have a bed of flowers with an ocean view. Once everything was shot, I went online, found stock images and started placing them together. I gave the image a simple colour adjustment to get it to something closer to what is real. From there it came down to blending the various new elements into the photo I shot. When all the elements were blended in, I gave the images a final colour grade to polish it off and placed on the text I created.
